Imagine Easter
Imagine the confusion of the disciples as Christ washed their
feet amidst their quarreling about greatness.
Imagine their questions as He broke the bread and served the cup with
words that have echoed through all time , “This is my body – This is my blood.”
Imagine their fear as soldiers broke into a prayer meeting as
Jesus prayed and they slept.
Imagine their perplexity as the events of the evening
unfolded—the kangaroo court – the enraged crowd –the condemnation of their
Master to death –all dashing hopes of an earthly kingdom.
Imagine the pain as they saw Him nailed to a cross and heard
Him cry immortal words as He hung suspended between Heaven and earth.
Imagine the despair as He was buried in an earthly tomb.
Imagine the seeming silence of God as three days passed,
BUT…Three
days hence
Imagine their unabashed joy as reality dawned that the grave
could not hold Him that sin’s power has been broken and that there is hope in
this life and beyond the grave,
Now we know access to His presence – His never ending
friendship-based on His finished work alone.
We embrace that truth with great certainty – knowing that as
He lives so shall we.
Celebrate life.
Celebrate salvation.
Celebrate assurance.
Celebrate
hope!
